Hungarian students compete to highlight the work of UNHCR
The Supply Management Service (SMS) of UNHCR has just concluded the 2nd annual video and poster competition with students from the Moholy Nagy Media Design University in Budapest, Hungary.
The returnees board two dozen buses bound for their ancestral home - which today is a village called Torit. They are for the most part women and children. Some are jubilant. Others are apprehensive. Some sing as their vehicles depart while others sit in resigned silence afraid for what the future would hold.
Women often remain under represented in refugee, IDP and returnee leadership structures. Refugee women in Kakuma, Kenya speak about the challenges and importance of participating in leadership structures, and passing their experience on to the next generation.
