"Pistachio Farmers Training Program 2010" – HasNa
HasNa welcomed a group of ten government officials, farmers, and extension workers involved in pistachio growing from Turkey for our Pistachio Farmers Training Program. The goal of the program is to help farmers in Turkey develop their pistachio orchards and increase their yield.
The program began in Washington, DC where the farmers explored the potential benefits of farm cooperatives, developed their conflict resolution skills, attended a business marketing seminar, and visited museums and other cultural sites. The second half of the program was at the University of California's Kearney Agricultural Research Center near Fresno, CA. Experts in pistachio cultivation shared their knowledge and experience during a week filled with in-depth seminars on growing and harvesting pistachios and visits to pistachio orchards and processing plants.
