In order to address some of the challenges facing Iraqi youth in Iraq, USIP and its Iraqi partners created a multimedia program that provides Iraqi teenagers with tools that can help them grow into independent, empowered citizens within a complex society. “Salam Shabab” is a 30-minute documentary that reveals the unique experiences of the thirty teenagers as they build friendships and compete in quiz show, short-film and performance competitions. The documentary, aired on three Iraqi channels in early 2010, coincided with the launching of salamshabab.com, where on online community of Iraqi youth can continue to interact and share their peacebuilding perspectives.
